Can you believe it is the start of February already?! A month in, and I can already tell 2015 is going to be a great year. I have this unyielding feeling that a lot of good things are going to happen for a lot of people this year. 2015 is the year to seize opportunities and make things happen. It’s going to be a year of positivity and change. New adventures and exciting experiences. Increased confidence and self love. Abundance, peace and joy. At least, that is the mentality I have towards the year ahead.
One thing I decided not to do this year was the whole cliché ‘ New Years Resolutions’ thing. Because lets face it, they usually end up broken within a week or two anyway. Instead, what I have done (along with setting myself a bunch of goals to achieve this year) is implement new habits and little rituals into my daily routine.
I’m focusing on small changes, rather than big challenges. The kind that just slip nicely into my regular regime with ease. I’ve found that introducing these lovely little doses of positivity each day has been a great way to instigate a more optimistic mindset. And I am about to share them with you below!
Daily Doses of Positivity
1. Happiness Jar.
There is a bit of happiness in every single day. Unfortunately, as we get caught up in life’s busyness, we often let these special moments pass us by. Every evening, I reflect back on all the positive things that happened throughout the day and choose one thing that made me the happiest. I write it down on a piece of paper, fold it up and put it in my ‘Happiness Jar’. I am looking forward to opening it up at the end of this year and being reminded of all the magical things that made me smile throughout the year. It is usually the little things that we take for granted and forget about over time, so this way I can reminisce on the beautiful moments of 2015 and be reminded of all the special moments that happened.

2. Less no, more yes.
I decided that 2015 is the year that I will begin saying yes more often. I am going to branch out of my comfort zone and say yes to new experiences, meeting new people and doing things I would usually be too scared to try. Within reason, of course. Introverted by nature, I am the sort of person who is way too content in my own company. I am guilty of turning down social offers far too often in favour of staying home with a good book in bed. So I am now going to be more of a YES woman and do more things that push me out of my comfort zone.

3. Gratitude Journal.
Keeping in theme with appreciating life and its many blessings, I have a gratitude journal that I write in daily. Each night before I go to bed, I list down ten things I am grateful for. Whether it be something as small as eating a deliciously sweet mango or receiving a compliment from a stranger, to something more substantial like giving thanks to the universe for my good health and mobility, I find that expressing gratitude helps to put things into perspective. Even when I think I have had bad day, reflecting on the things I am grateful for reminds me of how blessed I truly am.

4. Have A Theme Word
Choose a simple word that will set the tone for the rest of the year. I picked the word ‘experiences’ as my theme word for 2015. i want to collect as many beautiful memories, moments and experiences as I can this year. I want to be able to reflect back on 2015 as the year I explored new ideas, places and cultures. The year I had amazing experiences and made everlasting memories.

So there you have it. My daily doses of goodness. These are all things you can do too. It doesn’t matter that you didn’t start from January 1st because it is never too late to start. It doesn’t even matter if you don’t do them every day.
