Prioritize Your Priorities

Perhaps one of the most commonly used excuses for not exercising is “I don’t have time” or “I’m too busy.”

Really?

We all have the same 24-hours in a day, so why is it that some people manage to fit in 1, 2 even 3 workouts a day, while others don’t?!

Yes, I understand not everyone’s schedules are the same but it’s not about finding the time, it’s about MAKING the time.

If something is really, truly important to you, you will make it happen.

Personally, exercise comes first in my life. (Well, obviously after work and study, so I guess technically it comes third.) But when it comes down to it, I ALWAYS schedule in my exercise before anything else (sorry friends!)

Being fit, healthy, happy and well, looking good, is my top priority. I never let ‘lack of time’ be an excuse. Between working and studying I don’t have a day off but I still MAKE the time to exercise at least once everyday. Why? Because it’s important to me!

Sometimes this means sacrificing a bit of sleep, waking up an hour earlier and exercising first thing in the morning. Other times, it means saying no to dinner plans or arriving slightly later to an event.20140213-094022.jpg

To me, these things are barely even sacrifices. It’s just what I have to do. In fact, if I was to be completely honest, a real sacrifice would be missing out on going to the gym (no, I’m not obessessed, I’m just dedicated :P).

So, think about what is truly important to you, what is going to get you closer to your goals and make the time for those things. If your goals are fitness related, schedule in your workouts. Make exercise a priority.

Don’t prioritize your schedule. Schedule your priorities.
