Want to burn calories even while you’re in front of the TV? (Particularly when you are watching the Biggest Loser – those contestants are inspiring!) Well, here’s an awesome idea, work out in the ad- breaks.
I mean, think about it, what do you usually spend those 3 minutes doing? If you’re like me and you’d rather busy yourself by checking Facebook, scrolling through Instagram, replying to messages, washing the dishes or basically doing anything but viewing a barrage of boring marketing aimed at brainwashing us to purchase products that we don’t even need, then why not make a more productive use of this time – by working out!
In each ad-break focus on doing one exercise.
Squats, crunches, lunges, push-ups, tricep dips, leg raises, donkey kicks…. Hey, why not really challenge yourself and do a 3-minute plank. I surprised myself once and did a plank for an entire ad-break – it’s amazing what you can do when you’re distracted from the physical pain you are in.
Write the exercises down before you start so you know what’s coming up in the next break and alternate muscle groups so you are getting a whole body workout.
This has to be the easiest workout ever. 3 minutes of work to 7 minutes rest. It doesn’t get much better than that! And all while your watching your favourite show!
Give it a go. Stop wasting your ad-breaks and start using them to get active.
